Dear Hasan,

Please let me know if Squiggle can work over WAN as well?

Here is my bridge configuration on two nodes:

1) Windows XP, IP = 10.10.10.1
<BridgeConfiguration>
<InternalServiceBinding IP="10.10.10.1" Port="1235"/>
<ExternalServiceBinding IP="10.10.10.1" Port="1236"/>
<PresenceBinding MulticastIP="224.10.11.12" MulticastPort="9998" ServicePort="9997" CallbackPort="9996" />
<Targets>
  <add IP="192.168.0.101" Port="1236"/>
</Targets>
2) Windows 8.1, IP = 192.168.0.101 (it is a dynamic IP address assigned by my router, however I have reserved it for my computer in my router so that my PC gets the same IP in my network).
<BridgeConfiguration>
<InternalServiceBinding IP="192.168.0.101" Port="1235"/>
<ExternalServiceBinding IP="192.168.0.101" Port="1236"/>
<PresenceBinding MulticastIP="224.10.11.12" MulticastPort="9998" ServicePort="9997" CallbackPort="9996" />
<Targets>
  <add IP="10.10.10.1" Port="1236"/>
</Targets>
Please let me know if this is ok or requires any changes or Squiggle doesn't work over the WAN connection?
Or Do I need to configure it on my windows 8 PC using the Static IP assigned by my ISP?
Please help.

Thanks

To make Squiggle work on LAN the bridge nodes should have static internet IP and your externsalservice binding should have that IP. The target IP should be the public/internet static IP of other bridge node.

Many thanks for quick reply dear :)

I just tried this and found that it doesn't work. When I change the ExternalServiceBinding IP to my Static IP address (which I get from www.whatismyipaddress.com), the service doesn't start and throws error as follows:

"Service cannot be started. ZMQ.Exception: Address not available"

I checked this error in Windows EventViewer.

Following is my bridge configuration which I tried.

<InternalServiceBinding IP="192.168.0.101" Port="1235"/>
<ExternalServiceBinding IP="183.80.101.254" Port="1236"/>
<PresenceBinding MulticastIP="224.10.11.12" MulticastPort="9998" ServicePort="9997" CallbackPort="9996" />
<Targets>
<add IP="10.10.10.1" Port="1236"/>
</Targets>

I think this is because we can not ping our static IP address therefore the IP is not reachable for Squiggle and I am not sure if there is any solution for that.

Any help will be appreciated.

Your target IP has to be ExternalServiceBinding IP of the other bridge node.
